Our 1-Year Workmanship Warranty
Every repair and installation we do is backed by a 12 month workmanship warranty. This page is the plain-English version of what that covers, what it does not, and how to use it. No fine print buried anywhere else.
In one sentence
If the work we performed fails within 12 months because of how we did it, we come back and redo that labor at no charge to you.
That is the whole idea. The rest of this page exists so you know exactly where the edges are, because a warranty nobody has written down is a warranty nobody can rely on.
What the warranty covers
- 12 months of labor on the specific repair or installation listed on your invoice, starting the day we did the work.
- The workmanship itself. If a spring we installed was not wound correctly, if an opener we mounted works loose, if a cable we replaced comes off the drum because of how it was set, we fix it.
- Adjustments related to that repair. Balance, travel limits, force settings and alignment on the system we worked on.
- Return trips at no labor charge when the problem is our workmanship. You do not pay a second time for the same job.
- Corrosion of any part we supplied, for the full 12 months. We fit coastal-grade, corrosion-resistant hardware. If a part we supplied rusts through, seizes or stops working because of corrosion inside 12 months, we replace it and the labor is free, however close to the water you live. Surface discoloration on hardware is normal in salt air and is cosmetic, not a failure.
- Safety reversal and sensor alignment are always ours. For the full 12 months, if a door we worked on stops reversing correctly or the photo eye sensors drift out of alignment, call us and we retest and realign at no charge. Never adjust the force or limit settings yourself. That is our job, not yours.
- Commercial work on the same terms. Your commercial doors get the same 12 month workmanship warranty as a home. Note that a door cycling dozens of times a day wears faster, and wear is not the same thing as faulty work.
- The inspection is always free, even when the answer turns out to be no. We do not charge a service call fee, a trip charge or a diagnostic fee to come and look at work we performed. That holds for the full 12 months, including when the inspection shows the cause is not covered.
Parts and labor are two different things
Our warranty covers our labor. The parts we install carry their own manufacturer warranty, which is often longer than 12 months and sometimes much longer on springs and openers. If a part fails on its own, the manufacturer covers the part and we handle the claim paperwork for you. Where a covered part fails inside our 12 month window, we also do not charge you labor to swap it. Ask us for the part warranty length before we start and we will tell you what it is.
What the warranty does not cover
These are the normal limits every contractor works to. We are listing them plainly instead of hiding them, so nothing is a surprise on the day you call.
Work that was not ours
- A different part of the door or opener that fails on its own and was not on your invoice
- Repairs or parts installed by anyone else, before or after our visit
- If someone else works on something we covered, coverage continues unless their work caused the failure, or left us unable to tell what did. Showing that is our job, not yours. If the door trapped your car at 2am and you called whoever could come, tell us and we will work with you
- A problem we wrote on the invoice and you asked us not to repair, where that note appears on the copy of the invoice you were given
Damage from outside events
- Vehicle impact, or forcing the door by hand or by opener
- Hurricane, named storm, flood, storm surge, lightning and power surge. Wind loading can push a door, its track and its frame out of square without leaving a mark on the door, so realignment after a storm is storm damage rather than workmanship. That is normally an insurance item and we will write the estimate for your adjuster at no charge. If our own anchors or fasteners pulled out, or the installation did not meet the anchoring the product approval requires, that is ours and we fix it free, storm or no storm.
- Fire, vandalism, theft or break-in damage
- Rodents, insects or nesting in the tracks, springs or opener
- A garage frame, header or slab that shifts or settles
Normal wear and consumables
- Remote, keypad and battery backup batteries
- Light bulbs
- Weather seal and bottom rubber, which harden in Florida sun
- Routine lubrication and yearly maintenance
- Paint, finish, dents, scratches and cosmetic rust
Operating conditions
- Running a residential-rated door or opener at commercial cycle rates
- Springs are rated in cycles, not in months. A door at a business, a shared building, or a household running many daily cycles reaches that rating faster. A spring that has reached the end of its rated life is worn out, not defective
- Continuing to operate the door after a fault appears, which usually turns a small repair into a large one
- A door or opener we recommended replacing where a repair was chosen instead
- Loss of use, missed work, storage or towing costs, or any other indirect cost
How to use your warranty
Call us at (561) 354-6484
Have your invoice number and the date of the original service ready. That is all we need to look you up.
Tell us what the door is doing now
A short description helps us send the right technician with the right parts on the truck.
We come and inspect it
Most warranty visits are scheduled same day or next day. There is no service call fee to look at it.
If it is our workmanship, we fix it
You pay nothing for the labor. If a part we installed is still inside its manufacturer warranty, we handle that claim too.
If it turns out to be something else, we tell you first
We will show you what we found and give you a price before doing any work that is not covered. You are never charged for something you did not approve.
Conditions and limits
- 12 months from the service date shown on your invoice.
- Work we did before this page went up is covered by whichever is better for you, these terms or the 1-year workmanship warranty as we advertised it at the time of your job. If there is ever a doubt about which applies, you get the better one.
- It covers the customer named on the invoice, at the service address on the invoice. The warranty does not transfer if the property is sold or the tenant changes.
- Your invoice must be paid in full for the warranty to be active.
- Call us first. We need the chance to inspect and correct our own work, and we cannot reimburse an invoice from another company. If someone else has already worked on it, coverage continues unless their work caused the failure or left us unable to tell what did.
- The remedy is re-performing the labor. This warranty is a promise to come back and make the work right. It is not a refund, a credit, or a promise to pay for other costs.
- Report it when you notice it. Continuing to run a door with a known fault can cause damage that the warranty will not cover.
This warranty is given in addition to the rights Florida law already gives you as a consumer, and nothing on this page is intended to reduce them. The parts we install carry their manufacturer’s own warranty terms. If anything here is unclear before you book, call us and ask. We would rather explain it up front than argue about it later.
